Aloha!!!
I am dying at how long it has been since I made the time to create a post. No main reason other than I guess just living my best life and I forget. š
Iām going to focus a bit on where I am presently and a few highlights to catch you up to speed! I appreciate so many comments from you asking about my blog, why havenāt I posted etc. It means a lot to have you following along and knowing there are people caring and rooting you on. Thank you.
Currently I am in Maui, Hawaii and absolutely loving it! This is a first for me, and honestly not sure before this Hawaii would have been on my top list of next places to travel. Not sure why, but I hadnāt given it a ton of thought. I guess maybe I assumed similar to most other islands Iāve visited around the world and how different could it be?
Well, I was wrong! This island is majestic, calming, beautiful, welcoming and so much more! Plus, for people scared/uncomfortable to travel outside the US or donāt have a passport this most certainly rivals most islands for its beauty. The temperatures are spectacular, fabulous beaches, best surfing šāāļø, harmonious island of humans from all over and backgrounds living together with a special chill mindset that is genuinely refreshing.
There are plenty of homeless here (granted nicest homeless encampments Iāve seen globally), parts of the island that probably shouldnāt go to alone, but I feel all countries, states, areas are all going to have some areas that donāt reflect the best of the area and sadly are a part of all worlds. But one must also realize there are a ton of homeless encampments because this island burned just over a year ago, and so many homes were destroyed and peopleās familyās homes were burned so they literally had nothing and no where to go. Insurance isnāt remotely settled with many so makes me sad to think of what these people have endured.
I was invited to go by the sweetest woman I met thru travel and a friend and of course I am game for most things. We have had an absolute ball and travel well together. I think I may not sit still enough for her but we balance out well and are always laughing. Annette has spoiled us with the most special things that I have loved. She has done all the planning as this is celebrating a monumental year, and I am lucky to benefit from her planning! Holy crap she plans some special things.
We started off our trip doing a full spa day at the grand Wailea Spa. Part of the Waldorf Astoria properties. Wow. It was all based, which many things are around here, on the moon phases. The experience around it was something unique and special, probably my best spa experience to date globally. Not only because the scrub and massage, and sound bath were to die for, and the steam/hasson before hand just added to it. Something else I might add for anyone traveling of size, spas can be traumatizing. One wouldnāt think so until you are placed in a robe that doesnāt cover your body and asked to sit vulnerably with strangers and wait. I would prefer to sit nude than in a comprising position I canāt control. This spa literally had me covered. It was wonderful.
We then had a private tour guide to take us on the road to Hana and also the top of the mountain to do a sunset to blow your mind. He taught us so much about Hawaii and its culture we loved it. Plus he had a matching tattoo so we bonded instantly.
Will try and share more before I leave but this time change is killing me!!!! It is 9:45 their time but 2:45 mine. So my eyes can barely keep open. Until next time and I promise not so long again,
Ahola,
Jenny
