Headed to Vegas….

If you know me, you know I am down to go most places and tag along with any adventure. So when Shannon had furniture market in Las Vegas I of course say I’ll tag along for oh so many reasons!

First off I am a gambler. Always have been and probably always will be. So going to the Mecca is always a good idea to me. I will add though, I should do a couple blogs on where is the best gambling and best hotels in Vegas because you might not get both!

What I mean by that…I am a bit of a room snob. I like a nice hotel that has white linens that I can see are clean, and although I am a major price shopper, I most certainly enjoy a hotel of the 4 star variety. Now I am learning how to work the gambling points in my favor which always is nice when you are able to get your rooms comps and money to play on and eat on.

Now casinos that have some beyond fabulous rooms and suites in Las Vegas may not be my favorite place to gamble! After my countless trips this past three years I’ve stayed a lot of hotels. Location is important (freemont or on the strip) I have decided I prefer to rent a car much cheaper for me to run back and forth so location isn’t a big deal for me. The valet of parking the car influences but the actual casino is where it is for me!

I like a seedy, smoke smelly old casino yet has all the most modern up to date games. Oddly, prairie band in Kansas has some of the best selection of games around. So when in Vegas it’s hard because I struggle to find a casino that has as up to date games as prairie band and a nice room.

Long and short of it, I think may favorite places to stay are on Freemont because of the ease of walking and gambling and ability to bounce casinos. Granted, it is loud as shit down there most all the time, and even inside some casinos all night long it’s loud. Circa is one of the newest hotels and casinos and it has great rooms, fair selection of games, cool outdoor pool stadium yet you could be gambling at 3 am and the music is blaring! I mean loud as shit!

Since it was furniture market, many of Shannon’s furniture people were in town also so we were able to catch up with friends we travel with on furniture trips. Oddly one of the couples we were going to try and meet up with had Adele one night (said almost amazing concert btw 😋) but we’re able to catch up with Chad and Michelle whom you will see regularly in my pictures from travel. Shannon gets multiple trips provided and paid for because of the industry she is in so of course I will always tag along.

Years ago on my second trip to Cuba when I went with Yasiel, I believe there were like 25 of us on the trip. We have stayed in contact with many of them. Two of them are travelers like us and down for adventure so we love to meet up with them when we can, plus there’s a new addition of a baby so we had to get our hands on him! Harry, his wife Vicky, baby Harrison and Rick traveled in and I think we conned them into making a Kentucky derby trip.

Although I didn’t go to see Adele this time while in Vegas I did get to catch up and spend time with my friend Eric and play some cards with him. We learned years ago we both love games and I taught him canasta, one of my moms favorites and we love talking shit and challenging each other. One of us tends to win until the other needs a break. 😜

All in all it was a good trip and glad to be back home. That quick turn around is hard with a three hour time change. I really struggle!

Hope everyone is staying warm and safe, I know I’m trying!

Xoxo
