Hola de Tulum!
Im realizing I haven’t updated here in quite a while and also haven’t done a video update! My goal is today to try and get a combo out, but as most days in life they go different directions.
Currently I’m in Tulum Mexico working on my Spanish still and have been here almost two weeks again. I have met a fair amount of people that if I need to entertain myself I know who I can reach out to. Presently I am spending part of my day with two gentlemen I have met here from Poland that we struck up a conversation and they had been to Las Vegas recently and immediately I knew why. Adele. So instantly we bonded and had plenty to speak of.
They are changing accommodations today so after my tutoring session we are taking them from one to the next and I have a minute while waiting for them so it’s perfect. To catch up and fill in.
I have spent a fair amount of time now in Mexico and can most certainly do a blog on where is better in my opinion when traveling to this area. Roads, prices, languages and so much effect my decision on where going to learn and of course as an avid traveler I have opinions there too. I will save that for another time but if traveling outside a resort please ask! I have thoughts on areas of Mexico.
I started this stint in playa del Carmen via Cancun simply because there are cheap nonstop out of Cincinnati to Cancun which I love. I spent almost a week in playa del Carmen but my trip was cut short there because of my Airbnb issues. I didn’t want to move multiple times so I adjusted and shifted my trip to for the remainder and thus where I am currently in Tulum, Mexico.
I have a private tutor here that is phenomenal and just the most kind soul. He is from Columbia but moved here with his Dutch girlfriend. I have loved working with him, not to forget to mention my first tutor in playa del Carmen,Susanna which whom I fell in love with.
Life has been overall easier transition this time because I am aware of potential issues. A house is different than an apartment and I’ve learned which causes issues for both. Only a couple times thus far no water and no electricity so I’m doing good. 😝. I’m prepared and know to expect and happens everywhere and regardless have to deal with. It’s worth it to me and so far no freak outs or meltdowns because I’m prepared. And knew can happen. 🤣
I would say half the learning of this for me is to be alone and travel alone. It isn’t for sissies as my mom would say. It forces me out of my comfort zone and challenges me daily on something. And I know it’s good for me. I’ve learn many things about myself or realize and appreciate others in your world, and to also add it forces me to talk with others. I need communication and honestly to be able to shit talk. I love to talk shit and shit talk in every way I can. And learning to be able to shit talk in Spanish has been hard but I can do it! And that makes me happy. And entertains me.
I am going to sign off for now and hopefully get a video added also.
Hasta luego,
Jenny
