Vevay and Bourbon Barrels
Something on our list to hit when we were in the area or the next time we were headed on an adventure was a quaint little town of Vevay, Indiana. I had mentioned before in a post about learning of Kat Von D, (google her if not aware of the name) has been sharing her story of moving to a an area that happened to be about 45 minutes south of my recent move of Covington, KY. Realizing it was so close it was on my goal list to at least swing thru when going point a to point b and we were able to do just that! (There is another random gas station in KY that has a crazy bathroom that happens to also be on that list. )
Our trip was super quick because we had a bourbon barrel to pick up, but I knew a field of black tulips was planted and we wanted to try and catch some flowers before they lost their bloom or the deer got ahold of them. This town also sits along the river which I of course love all that comes with being river side here, which this town offered also! We of course had to stop at the giant duck in town since I am a jeep girl.
I am in love with my new barrel table! I wanted to do a bourbon ish theme for this house, and had this made and I have put a glass top on to create a table top. I found someone down in Louisville, KY that did custom whiskey barrel tables, wall hangings and more, and my friend Max designed the amazing top design for me. It came together nicely and Its a perfect fit for Covington. I didn’t want a “dining room” per se, I wanted to create a story room that allowed a place for people to be able to eat, play games and share stories. This table with my leather pub chairs is absolutely perfect!
Lastly, thank you to everyone who reached out and shared condolences with myself or Addison, or commented on my blog or sent me a message about Sean’s passing. I know the upcoming months are not going to be fun for Addison so if you are one that is good at mailing things, please drop me a note and I’ll send you her mailing address. I know pick me ups and cards would make her day not to mention if you had a pic of her dad you could share. I have received quite a few randomly which has made my day. Fun to look back and reminisce.
Until next Friday, when I will actually be traveling to visit a friend!! I know I will have lots to share from there.
Lots of love,
Jenny
