Back in Kansas
Currently sitting back in Kansas on a quick trip back truly, to see my sister, Addison and Lou and to see the progress my sister has made on redoing my childhood home. And wow! It was worth the trip to see the progress and my momma would be proud and I believe she would love it! I laugh that my sister has painted over all the blue my mom had yet still paints the kitchen blue. 😝
Okay, this is a friendly reminder of where my new location is and your hint to remember to message, text, call me if you are in my circle or have my cell number and you are in the vicinity of Cincinnati Ohio! Although I talk about my new home by referring to it as Covington it is to not confuse people that have known I spend a lot of time in Cincinnati Ohio.
Covington is directly across the river and a five minute drive for me to meet a familiar face somewhere. It literally is a suburb of Cincinnati with different tax rates. 🤣 Would welcome you to stop by my home or gladly meet you at an easy stop of reds stadium, hard rock casino or a fun place to lunch!
This past week I had a treat of Topeka friends who happened to be in town for their son playing Jayhawk baseball at the university of Cincinnatti. So glad they connected the dots of where I was and realized I was five minutes from their air bnb and reached out. Angie, Jenny and Lance, ticked we didn’t take a pic but thrilled you got to see that part of my world and I got to see a familiar face and spend time with you all.
Now in case a Gibson family member (my extended family that are my favorite people ever) are reading this, one of you are on my shit list for going thru Cincinnati, staying the night there and even being in Shannon’s home town. Next time I better at least get a hug on the drive thru. And that goes to all of you!
I of course am loving a new part of the world but I also love to see those I adore and familiar faces. And, the new things I learn about all the time to try and explore thrills me! I’ve learned there is a ferry you can take to the airport for $6, and it is much quicker than the highways when living certain parts of Cincinnati. 🤯. I had no idea something existed! So, next person coming for a visit gets a ferry ride.
I’ve also learned Kat Von D (if not familiar I encourage you to google her and her amazing talent) has purchased a unique home in a small town called Vevay, Indiana that she has started an instagram to share it’s uniqueness and charms of a small town. As I was coming back to Kansas I noticed the exit for the town about 45 away from Covington/Cincinnati so I am excited to explore that area and take the next visitor or find a day to hit the town and maybe a distillery along the way.
Our dear friend Cathy Sarky whom you see us with often, and travel with, is a native Cincinnatian and knows the town and knows everyone. So we love to be able to find days to have Cathy shown us special spots in and around the city and this past Sunday we were able to hit my first art festivities in the city.
I love that Cincy is also an arts town which if you know and follow me, I will always find that area of town. Love to be able to compare to NOTO and get ideas and see the creativity of a city and artists.
I also shared previously that my sister and I hid my cousin Bob’s ashes at his last residence which happens to be in Cincy. Rather odd I am loving a city my first cousin once loved and called home and we never visited. Patti had tucked his little urn along the stairs and while out exploring with Cathy we came back into the neighborhood and I was tickled I could check up on Bob, making sure he was still there. 😝. He is.
Until next time,
Jenny
